Reflections of the 'State of the Union'

In the President's 'State of the Union' there was talk about job growth and continued recovery of the economy; discussion of what remains of the healthcare bill and changes to the war in Afghanistan. These are all great things, but the People didn't want the normal politician speech, they wanted a potent message that shows the President is just as angry about Wall Street hacks and deviant lobbyist. The People wanted fist shaking and ass kicking. All they got was a speech that some People fell asleep halfway through either because of the boredom from the same old political jargon or because they were playing the 'State of the Union' drinking game. Should the President have offered such a speech, maybe one similar to old school wrestling with Hulk Hogan and Audre the Giant? That remains to be seen. It is hard to say that the President's agenda of bringing both republican and Democrats together is really worth anything. There is an obvious fundamental difference that keeps the conservatives screaming out "you lie" when the truth is being told. There are so many out there still focused on the Presidents race and not the loss of their own hometowns job market. Would it be good to stand up in a gun battle and say "can't we work this out"? The answer is "no". The President may not want to see the battle that is waging yet, but the People, on both sides, do. If progress is to be made then we have to stop allowing stupidity to reign. It is for he greater good.
