Volume XI: Our Pilot

It's finally hear.
8 years...8 years of waiting...8 years of fear...but now hope for the hopeless.
We've been trying to guess what this day will feel like. It's seems to be a flutter of the heart, something that one can't describe; like a first kiss or a warmth from a good cup of hot cider.
What will he say to us? Will he fill in the gaps we've been missing?
(He will fill something that's for sure...that long lasting void made by his predecessor.)
The administration has already been offering people a voice by allowing everyday people to write in all their ideas to change.gov. Now they may not be able to read all of them, but it gives people a direction when they've had none. What Obama seems to bring is direction and now we need it more than ever. He may not have all the answer nor even a real plan, but true leaders never do.
On inauguration day people will put out US flags, when 2 years ago they'd rather have burned them than display them. It will be like a 4th of July celebration. Obama has brought nationalism back to the forefront of our culture. He personifies the youth and vitality that the US was once know for. His words will echo through the coming years. (you know its gonna be a good speak.)

To top off the building energy of this past week a plane landed safely into the Hudson. The skills of calm pilot allowed a amazing and unbelievable landing into the cold winter waters. We now know that he was composed and cool in the face of danger. With the help of his "wing man" (copilot) he did something rarely done or even imaged. The pilot even went back after people left the plane and made sure they everyone was safety out of the aircraft.
This pilot represents the hero we voted for and the possibility what is come. We've run into danger and we want someone to land our country safely. Obama will tell us to "brace for impact" and somehow, someway we will make it.

Mister Awesome Himself. (his mustache gives him strength)

Volume X: Bush "Thank You!"

Thank you Bush for: steeling an elections; not knowing what to do in times of crisis; starring into the abyss when we were under attack; exploding NY's finest; saying "with us or against us"; starting a war under false pretenses; spending more money to get oil than to get the bad guys; forgetting about fuel alternative; deregulating wall street; giving more money to the rich; thanks for disregarding the pour & sick; using the word "misunderestimating"; giving up diplomacy; empowering the wealthy health care executives; killing social security; creating the ss (I mean Homeland Security); thanks for making us live in 1984; controlling the press; destroying the English language; making the republican party the "evil" party; being stupider than your dad; demolition liberty; undoing freedom; torturing people; killing civilians; holding people against their will; breaking international laws; forcing other countries to break international laws; thanks for not helping people after a hurricane; showing that our country is still: racist, sexist, & homophobic; dropping your dog; making every child left behind; showing that kids are now "learned"; taking funding from schools; hiding the truth from the public; allowing poison into our toys & foods; making the south rise again; re-addicting us to oil; wiping out our Ozone; undoing the purpose of our space program; placing unjust people as judges; thanks for: wearing a cowboy hats; taking vacations all the time, being like every other Chief executive who doesn't care about his workers; making public into private; turning the middle class into Atlas; undoing parts of the Internet; listing to our phone calls; reading our emails; making cheap things expensive; turning hope into hopeless; personifying tyranny; leaving America broken...

Thanks for:

prompting Barak; proving we are unbreakable; and making me write this blog!

Volume XI: 2009 NEWS with a storm

It's Dark out there and the Snow begins to fall.
Across the sea of white 2.6 million have been lost and the rest are freezing. Huddled together for warmth some fires begin to look presidential and some...some just burn out. There's not enough heat to stop all the cold that has come and although we have become more equal and together, we feel alone. The wind whistles through Holy Lands and madness screams through the air. Some frost takes over and pipes become brittle and all but stop. Our neighbors may not get the heat they need and for now all seem powerless to provide blankets. The freedom to go and do seems a distant memory. Staring through the window the fog of distrust begins to narrow our view. Ice takes over western roads and nothing is made to drive. The snow keeps falling. Winter seems to be forever and nothing seems to stop this storm.

This icy blizzard is going to be long and for now during the darkness we may have to stay inside. But at some point it will be day and we can go out and claim these snow covered hills as our own. We can take our sleds and ride atop this winter.
Spring will come and so will the heat of the sun.
