Silence-Volume 6

Silence

I was deaf as a child,

Teacher stop screaming at me…

I can only see my L,M,N,O,P’s,

I can’t believe what you say

Cause all your words go astray,

Feeling the vibrations of my mothers vocal chords

as she reads to me my Curious George.

She doesn’t know the colors is what appeals to me.

Again and again I try to speak,

but the Lyrics of Language

can not come from my deafness.

I am a Deaf mute

But I’m not Stupid.

I am a Deaf mute

But I’m not Stupid.

I try and try, but why…?

Years and years go by.

I reach the world of the speech,

now I hear what you try and Preach

But I will not reach the perfection of my father’s desire,

just the manual Labor that he hires

I speak to you…now I hear you

But I can’t feel…I want to feel.

I am wanting...I am wanting…I am wanting…

To be like the rest of you.

Just a small boy entering the world

Sang Choir when the notes I could not speak.

Just a small boy no one knows…

I can not understand.

Talking falls on deaf ears.
