This damn things gonna be everywhere by the end of the day if it's not already, so here's my two cents:
First, this is how I heard about this story. A promo for some Fox morning News show came on and I heard "fight" and "were you ever tempted to give that guy a wedgie?" "Only on Fox." (that kinda of commentary comes at the end of the video below)
Ok, so there is a news story here, somewhere, and to promote it you put in an ass reference ok, not a completely crazy promo, I wanted to know more. So I went and found this story and reviewed it in full. The story is: Pedicab vs. Cab driver, ok. And then I assumed some sort of details would be acquired by the reporter who was right there. Nope...just "they go at it" and "I think the taxi honked at the pedicab." Hey, Reid go talk to the cab driver after the police do. You could at least get a little more on why the hell these guys got into a fight that stopped Broadway. Reid, it's actually really easy, just walk up to the Taxi driver and say "what the hell?" No, Reid can't be bothered to get the story, he wants to be the story. As you can see Reid and another reporter break the forth wall and stop the fight. Wait what? Reid, your a journalist you are suppose to report? Ok Reid, it was nice of you to stop the fight, according to you someone was on the verge of death. But, might I suggest not reporting in a war zone. People normally are fighting to win and you'd be just another body on the battle field.
Anyway, my final thoughts on this video is that it seems a little staged. The pedicab driver and Taxi cab driver totally see the Fox News dudes right there and both of them decide to leave there vehicles in the middle of the street and both of them start fighting in the middle of the intersection. Also, in the background you can see a guy who kinda looks like a police officers(in video below). Oh, and also, Fox News loves ratings not reporting.
Here is some of the raw footage. You decide.
