Volume VVV: Transmission November 26th 2009.

In early November 2008 another large global sell out all but destroyed the United States economy. The markets were frozen and economists began to look for someone to blame. GOP immediately pointed out that Obama's win didn't help and that it may have caused this particular collapse. The previously turbulent few months that left great American companies devastated causes the nation to begin selling out to foreign investors. By mid-December the overflow of foreign control left the 70% jobless weary of anyone of foreign ethnicity. Media, transportation, communications, and power began to slow as the cold December pulled on the remaining working class. A cold winter set in and parts of the northern midwest faced a massive snow storm that brought yet another crisis to American soil. The government failed to react due to the lack of funds, but produced images of soldiers helping a few icy residents. The media showed these images with different edits and gave the illusion of multiple rescues.
On December 21st the USS Mississippi sailed into the Gulf of Mexico and on December 22nd pulled into Galveston Harbor. The harbor was still heavily covered by National Guard and the army reserve from the hurricane early in the year. Soldiers on the docks were very tired from helping squelch an uprising from Galveston residents whose banks reposesed their homes earlier in the week. On the USS Mississippi a group of sailors began removing shoot 15's torpedo for scheduled maintenance when something went horribly wrong. The torpedo somehow went off sending flames through the lower part of the ship. The shrapnel from this explosion immediately hit an adjacent torpedo and caused it to go off. A massive explosion shoot out the side of the vessel. Pieces of metal flew miles away. Crewmen tried to contain fires that sprung up from the falling hot metal, but the fires quickly grew in size and started consuming the entire dock. The National Gaurd and Naval men scrambled to move artillery in cases sitting on the dock, but it was too late. The fires first reached bombs that were to be loaded onto the USS Mississippi. There was an explosion. A huge fireball was seen & felt by half of Houston. Mass confusion set in.
Initially the news had no idea what to report.
Mike Jenkins reporting for Local Fox News reported onsite: "it looks like we're being fired upon down here...those fire balls in the sky look like missiles". (Mike would later realize that it was pieces of metal from the dock explosion.) These few words spiraled into Fox & CNN reporting, "we have heard reports that's Galveston is under attack". Video images from local news channels showed the rain of fiery metal over & over again. public was confused as to whether it happened live or whether it was previously taped. Obama, McCain, and the President all heard these reports. The president feeling the loss for his party in the recent elections quickly took action. President Bush picked up the phone and called his friend in South Houston. His friend, an unnamed source, said they didn't know what was going on, but it seemed that things were still exploding. His friend said that he has heard reports that a ship was "firing from the Gulf of Mexico".
Bush didn't hesitate, he asked his advisors to place him on National Television immediately. Bush quickly spoke to Cheney & Rice and then went live.
Bush begins: "My fellow Americans something tragic and evil has happened in Galveston, Texas. Reports are...not clear at this time. (Bush takes a long pause). But what is clear is that an act of "Terror" has happened. I will work with the men and women of every part of our government to defend our great nation. We will hunt down the culprits and defend America against terrorist attack. For these reasons I declare Martial Law... This will be for a limited basis and normal government will be restored once we are safe again..."
All borders are closed and what was the United States of America changed forever.
